Maybelline Simply Fabulous Grand Finale!!

I went to Euphoria yesterday night for the Maybelline's Simply Fabulous Grand Finale... It was packed with supporters.. they even have banners cheering for their favourite contestant.The 10 finalists. Ordinary girls with big dreams.

The winner of the grand finale was Nalinder, she got one step closer to achieving her dreams on becoming a travel host.

The night starts with the hosts, Sarah Lian and Henry Golding emcee-ing for the night. They got some of the audience to get up on stage and do a bullwalk(male equivalent of the catwalk).

The crowd was packed and hyped up for the night while medias and Vips are all lounging upstairs..

The 10 finalists makes an entrance, there were lots of cheering and support from the crowd.

Zhareen won the Iphone for the 2nd challenge that the finalists took part in. They were supposed to discover 10 spies in a club by approaching everyone there. She was deemed calm, poised and confident when approaching the spies!

Hosts for the night : Henry Golding and Sarah Lian. Henry is quite thin in person... hehe

Calista won the Striking Confidence Award (blogger's choice). I heard that the votes was Calista against Zhareen, I din vote for either of them though. hehe. In the end, Calista won the award.

Nurdiana won the So Gorgeous Award(Retailer's Choice) presented by Watsons. Each of the award winners take back RM 1200 worth of Maybelline New York products each.

Finally the announcement for the grand winner came! Nalinder is the lucky girl to bag RM 10, 000 and the chance to go to New York Fashion Week!

After the announcement came, the other girls hugged Nalinder despite their disappointment. To me, I personally feel that the journeys for all of them starts here. Some may give up, some may work harder... and it all depends on them individually.

More hus an well wishes.. but there are a few contestants who are already affected by the results and trying to keep a low profile. Losing is an invaluable experience if taken positively.

I went to the 3rd shoot of the girls... What an amazing event!! They were all glammed up and they matured so much after the first shoot.
They were really tired and sleepy though.. non stop shooting the whole day.

A Cut Above BSC Launch Preview

Hey lovelies!!

I went to the A Cut Above BSC Launch yesterday but a little story first..
Few weeks ago I went to Shunji Matsuo to cut my hair with the dreams of japanese or korean dudes touching my hair..There wasn't any Japs or Koreans there....-_-

So I took the director and this is precisely what I asked, " Can you just cut my hair like how you cut for hair shows? Something funky and stylish!"

And he started chopping away my shoulder length hair.. then I asked him, " Have you worked here for long?"
He replied "Oh I am new, but I was with A Cut Above for 20 years plus."

.. A Cut Above.... you guys remember Vinn? if you have been following my blog since the beginning of time.. you will remember her looking like this :And her hair came from a hair show she did for A Cut Above.. In my head, I thought " I am gonna come out looking like Vinn!!!!"

So I went to the A Cut Above launch in BSC with Ringo from Cheeserland.com.. looking like an A Cut Above ambassador eventhough I went to Shunji Matsuo....Aishah Sinclair, emcee for the night!

Do you want to apply makeup but do not want to look overdone with a plastic mask on your face?
Then this makeup is perfect for you! It enhances your features, making you prettier.. think of it as a makeup plastic surgery thingie!

Apply concealer on your eyelids, nose area and around your lips.
Powder up with loose powder for light coverage.
After that, apply white eyeshadow on your brow bone, the area right under your brows.

After that, use a peach shimmer eyeshadow and apply all over your eyelids.. The trend now is shimmer! Light, feminine shades of shimmer!!! Get yours quick!!

Then use a silver shimmer and apply near the lashline, blending upwards.

This is how it looks with the eyes open, the trick is to keep shades light so that they don't overshadow your features..The star is your best features, not the makeup!

After that apply dark grey eyeshadow near the upper lashline in the outer corner and blend slightly upwards.

Your eyelid crease should still be visible!

After that, apply blue shimmer on your lower lash line. This blue line makes your eye white seems whiter and enlarges your eyes as well. Its good for your eye if you have red eyes or yellow eyes.. on that day.

After that, use a black liner pencil and draw the thinnest line you can right on the lashline. Stay right on the lash line. Just do the outer corner of your eye.

Then use black liquid liner and do an extremely thin line for your upper lash line.
Why thin? So that it does not makes your crease look any shallower.

Finish off with a light peach blusher.

Glam up with mascara and fake lashes if you are going out at night.

For the lips, apply lip balm and shade in concealer on your lip outline. Smudge towards the center until you get a slightly nude lips look. Then finish off with lip gloss over your lips!
If your lips are darker in shade on the upper lip or lip outline, this is where the concealer hides them and turns them back into a healthy hue of skin before you apply your lip gloss!

Lastly, use the white eyeshadow and apply on the tip of your nose and right on top of your cheekbone to give them a lift!

You know you got your lips right when you can see the outline of your upper lips.. like above!

For your hair, separate into 2 parts: left & right. Then separate them into 2 again into top & bottom.
For the 2 bottom parts, curl towards your face. and for the upper parts, curl away from your face.
Give it a shake and you are ready to go!

You can't go wrong with this makeup! Its so feature friendly!

Remember to give a sweet smile when you pose for the camera!

here's a rich tutorial for you!

brows and brow bone done the usual way.. I used brow pencil today cuz someone blocked the way to my angled brush and the 88 pallete.
I squirmed through to do my brow bone with shade 1 though.. it's talc white color.

Assisting today is Kim from Temptious Art and Pearl from Bunny Noo.
Kim read manga while I makeup and Pearl hold the SLR.
I used smokey ash brown for my base color.

And a dark brown for the 2nd colour.

After that I lined the outer corner of my eyes with black liner pencil.
I did the pink teary area too.

After mascara..

And falsies, yes its Opera from my lash collection. finally back in stock.

Please do not do what I did. I used the bling bling sticker for handphones.. If you plan to do what I did, please remove the adhesive sticker and put eyelash glue at the bottom to stick to your face.


I even did part of my hand.. and hence all the same angle of my face in all the photos.

Anyway, I went to alot of events & bazaars recently, here are a few pics for yall to enjoy..
First off, KDU College Rave 4 Sale Event

I was the sponsor for the makeup...so i did the makeup for all the models.. check it out.
I was assisted by Kim.. you'll get to see her pics later.. she did all the base up til the blusher.. I just do the eyes...Thin eyeliner... green, yellow eyeshadow, falsies.

Then one day, we went to the Comedy Club..We were supposed to have a photoshoot, so I did all our hair and makeup.. but the photoshoot was delayed.. That's us all glammed up! From left : Kim & Ash from Temptious Art, Pearl from Bunny Noo and me from er. Blushberry.

Authentic Black Liner Look

Blushberry v2 is still under construction.. for those who wanna take a look see you can head to blushberry.info.. everything is still a mess.. but i m working on it!

Today I m feeling hyped and generous.. cuz I woke up early and I have a long day ahead. It feels good! So I am gonna share 2 tutorials today.
1. Authentic Black Liner Look : ever wonder why when models have that black smokey eye.. it looks much neater and sharp compared to your own make up? Read on to know how to get that look!
2. Extending your hair for romantic wavy curls! : You only need 4 extensions minimum for this.. I used 4 only.. I usually use alot more but for the sake of the tutorial, I just want to show how much you can do with just 4 extensions.

Let's start with the makeup! For dark eyeshadow looks... you must always remember to use a light shade for your brows, or you'll end up looking like another race.
Do your brow bones like usual..

After that, use a dark grey colour and colour your eyelids.. plus a little of your lower lash line.. just the outer corner..

After that, get black eyeshadow and dab on your lower and upper lash line. Make sure the line is really really black. Use a suitable brush for this, if ur gonna be dabbing.. a brush with short hairs would be great! If you don't have one.. use a cotton bud. Anyway, once your lash lines are totally black, use your previous brush and do a wiping motion over the black lines. It will blend them out towards your grey area.. Repeat this step until you get a result like above. Please take your own sweet time.....

I know it looks scary but the technique is legitimate and safe ok!
Pull down your eyebags to reveal the thin pink line above your lower lash line.
Use a black eyeliner and colour the thin pink line. Do it at your own pace, if you hadn't done it before, your eyes might tear.. so please take your own sweet time with this.
There is a difference from lining the pink line and the lash line.. For intense and sharp look, do it this way..

After you do the pink line, you can colour the outer corner of your lower lash line abit to get the result below:

See how sharp the eyes is now? Now, line your upper lash line for the neat look..

For the final touch, add a hint of white liner at the inner corner of your eyes like so.
Finish up with mascara and falsies..

Now let's begin the hair extensions tutorial..
1. Clip your hair up except for your nape hair
2. Take 2 extensions : assuming that your extensions is 3 clips wide. If its one clip, use 6. Clip them on the hair line like so.

1. Split your hair to left and right sections, put them on your front shoulder.
2. Use a curler tong and curl BOTH your hair and the extensions together. This will create a sticky curl which makes your short hair and the long extensions seem like one!
If you can still see your short hair jutting out, curl the ends of your short hair together with the extensions and hold the curler.
3. Do an inward curl, which means curling towards your face. See the direction of the curls in the next photo

You should get an effect like this.. your hair will be melded together with the extensions..like a layering style..if your own hair is STILL jutting out, use your fingers and twirl your hair and the extensions in the direction you curled your hair.

1. Clip the crown of your hair up.
2. Attach 2 extensions to the hair line like so

1. Do an outward curl this time, the curls facing away from your face.
2. Use the same curling technique from before, melding your hair and the extensions together.

If you have more extensions you can repeat the above, but if you don't, let down the rest of your hair and curl them.. if you need to meld them with the extensions you know what to do!

Now, because I use only 4 extensions, the long hair looks sparse, the way to correct this (not to buy more extensions.. expensive ok) is to simulate a half hair bun.

This is the hairdo that makes your sparse extensions looks logical.. cuz once you half tie up your hair, obviously the hair left is quite little. Just try to gather your hair and see which hair/extensions that you can leave draping without tying them.

At the end, it will look like this! Hope you like it!

I have already implemented a simple blog system for you guys to submit your tutorials and blog... so for those who are seeking more traffic, visitors and are thinking of starting a beauty/design blog.. you can submit your tutorials or blog in Blushberry v2.

WHY AM I DOING THIS?
1. I am no expert, maybe you are.. or not. but blushberry has always been an audience speaking to audience kinda thing.. no bias.. no brand promoting.. and i want all of us to have a good time ya!
2. It's free not cuz I am crazy but cuz it's still a prototype until v3.. n yall will be the witness as it grow to fame. (just like how i march my way into The Star). I am aiming for the next interview or publicity to be about US, beauty n design bloggers as a TEAM.. not just me. I am not that selfish.
3. I wanna know yall at a more personal level.. thats why i suggested the blog and the discussion board.. it's weird when people are reading bout your life(somewhat life) and you know nothing bout them.. i m just not the kind that rise n let people who support me stay low. So rise with me.

Anyway, here is a cool technique on how to use wet makeup.. just a basic application though ;)

It's been some time since I show every makeup application step... here goes!

first step, foundation and concealer.. Do not use foundation daily.. it's too heavy.... too much.. maybe for events and night.. it cakes your wrinkles if you apply too many things on your face anyway

This is after foundation. I look like crap. so imagine how i looked like before.
I dun care if all my pics here have to be beautiful.. but it's time yall get to know how i really look like. I applied some lip balm unto my lips cuz my lips are dark near the borders.. so I need to lighten them up with concealer.

Hello Flawless by Benefit.. Use the brush for light coverage(when you use foundation and concealer), sponge for heavy coverage(when you only use concealer)

I applied concealer to my eyebags and on my lip borders.
Then I used the powder on my face.
Yes I know my face is lighter than my neck n body. Reason is I went Urbanscapes and got sun stroked and sun burnt. I am sick with flu n sore throat.. just got well today.

Then use an angled brush and get some colour for your brows.
Why brush and not pencil? Cuz the result is softer and more natural, especially for aliens like me with no eyebrows haha. If you have thick brows, use a pencil to fill in. If you use a brush, it will look messy and bushy.

See what some eyebrows will make me look? I look normal now... :D

Get the lightest shade for brow bone.. If you want a natural look, get something darker or skip this step. This step makes your makeup looks more professional..

Eyes look more awake and bigger now!

Grab some shimmer shadow(Majorca Majolica here)

Apply on eyelids.. Blend up to your brow bone colour..
Makeup is 20% application and 80% blending. What's blending?
It's using a clean brush to rub the colour edges til they go soft.

Get a pink colour..Think light orchid pink!

Line the upper lashline.. slant it up!

Get a orchid purple color. Use 2 or more colours if you like. on the same brush of course!

Line the outer corner of the upper and lower lashline like so.

Now here's something new... dip the brush in water.
Get bright yellow... make sure ur brush is full with the pigments.

Do the inner corner of your lower and upper lashline. yellow is the complementary colour of purple.
Other possible combos are :
1. blue + orange
2. green + pink

This is how you get colours for your blusher brush.. grab the 2 lines of pinks.. or reds.. or oranges..

with blusher and mascara.. no falsies..

with lipstick.. I have to correct my body tones twice to match my face. I hate the sun.

I wanted the swollen eyes look.. couldn't really get it cuz of my Asian eyes.. if you don't want this look use some liquid eyeliner.

i dunno whether bb was hacked or what.. cuz you know the read more in every post, it is from blogoholic.info... n yesterday n today morning.. when you click into my blog u see the image above.. i wonder if its the script went haywire or someone planted the code there.

watever issit, i fixed it and I changed my password.. sorry for the server interruption yall!

The Big Decision

I feel that if I blog only when I have tutorials, this blog will be long dead.
Its already invaded by some idiotic manga artist. 0_0

The truth is I am not so much a blogger. Well if you see male bloggers can pretty much blog about :
1. food
2. gadgets
3. chicks
4. events
5. photography
6. design
7. humour

and the list goes on.. but female bloggers are stereotyped into :
1. food camwhore
2. gadgets camwhore
3. party wild chick
4. models who are often in photography sessions

for those others who actually blog about something substantial.. they don't get as much readers as those chicks who put plenty of their pics up in the blog.
Don't believe me? Take a look at Xiaxue, Dawn Yang or Cheeserland..
People look at pretty girls..regardless of their intelligence or talents or watever. Seeing those names above the first thing that popped up in your mind is : why so many pics of themselves.. omg.

And you just scroll aimlessly down looking at the pics without delving into their content, no matter how intelligent or smart their post is. Sometimes you read.. sometimes you don't.

This was one of the reasons why I did not focus Blushberry on me.. I did not even introduce myself. heck. and there are no personal posts or personal photos watsoever unless they are from events related to Blushberry.

You'll never catch me posting up clubbing photos or some controversial photos of myself here..I dunno.. maybe its boring.. maybe I should brand myself into Blushberry.. I haven't decided.

cuz the truth is, running a beauty blog will never get me up in the Nuffnang charts. How many ads can they target to my blog anyway.. beauty ads.. fashion ads.. skincare healthcare..basically everything a lady is interested in. that's about it!

Now, you're probably thinking.. Emmagem did it. Tongue in Chic too. and a handful of others.
Yea, they got PEOPLE running their company. I've got people too. 3 chicks in my imagination and 2 random hot guys in my mind. I am just too freaking selfish to share.

My Daily Life in Crumbs
Wake up at 4 pm.
Go to the PC.
Eat when hungry.
emails.design.emails.design.calls.meetclients.manageblogs.design.
Sleep at 7 am.

when I am free, I slot in blogging and photography. that's getting rarer n rarer nowadays.

{ **/ When I graduated, I made a staunch decision to quit the design.3d.arts industry. low pay + bad working hours. I went as far as to standing up a few interviews at some top companies just to make sure there is really no path back into the industry for me.

a friend once told me, 'if design is your fate, you can't run from it.' Blushberry was meant to be a beauty blog, but it has became a publicity tool for my designs which I charge real low cuz I DON'T PLAN TO DO IT in the first place!!

Now I am sucked back in. /**}


I am tired. I lacked sleep. I lacked exercise. I lacked food. I look like a fucking zombie. I miss BlushBerry... most of all I miss replying comments from yall..heck I don't even check my blog traffic anymore.

So I have decided.

Blushberry will no longer be about beauty.
As of today, Blushberry will be about beauty, design and me.
