Hey hey! I just got back from Mraz's concert in Stadium Negara. Man, it was packed. Hot. Sweaty ( I was in The Pitt [the closest non-sitting semi-dance floor section) Everybody was glistening wet and we were not allowed to bring water inside. but damn. it was the best concert ever.

I shall start with the story of how I got to go to his concert. I been wanting to go. ('wanting' differs from 'want' cuz 'wanting' has a tad of confusion tagged onto the word in my dictionary) but I only decided to go YESTERDAY. ONE FREAKING DAY BEFORE THE CONCERT.
My friend from Uni and me. Hopeless and desperate fans of Mr. Mraz.
My friend from Hong Kong just went to his concert that time and was raving about his 'style, songs, SENSE of HUMOUR and his crowd pleasing skills. How could I miss it!! I went to ebay and google looking for last minute tickets. but damn no luck.
The bokeh(blurred light circles) are due to the mist spray from the fan.
Then I called Axcess ( the company selling the tickets) and they said it was sold out. I was literally crying then, cursing my proscratinated 'want' and my stupid indecisiveness. Then my photographer showed up in my house with 2 Pitt Tickets. I was so calm I screamed like a mad woman.
His story was he went to buy the tickets from the booth but it so COINCIDENTALLY happened that they just opened up an extra 20 tickets at 2 pm for The Pitt due to excessive demand. And when he was there, he took the 3rd and 2nd last piece, leaving only 1 ticket left. How 'lucky', 'I'm definitely yours'
Hence I went. :D Things to expect in a concert : 1. ear deafening screams and shrills.especially a guy screaming, 'Jason, Jason!!!!' 2. Traffic jam and road blocks before and after the concert 3. Long wait before the concert starts.
but what I did not expect is this : 1. Jason and his crew were taking polaroid shots of us!!! and of themselves and throwing the polaroids to the crowd! 2. Freaking alot of people wore Fedora hats similar to his. The original one was the Calvin Klein Fedora hat, which is the black one. 3. Being taught how to dance and singing incoherent sounds by Jason Mraz ( He is best at incoherent sounds like dudududu, bowaah ah ououou u get what I mean ) 4. Aunties in the Pitt over 36 years old.
I regretabbly did not bring my SLR there, so the shots are all pretty bad... So sorry but I do have 2 videos for yall..hehe..The reason why I did not bring the SLR was I do not want to keep photographing him, I wanted to enjoy myself. Hehe.

Anyway, there will be regretabbly no more updates for the rest of this week. Why? 1. I shot some stuff but its the kind that need follow-up shoots . for example.. a zit cream progress shoot. I dun wanna use photoshop n cheat yall now would i? But it's not a zit cream alright.... 2. I am preparing for some new products for purchase and the next FREEBIE competition that will be out in 15th of March for all of you. So watch out for it! 3. I am currently swamped with online purchases orders and also blog designs and web designs and 3d jobs and also my damn showreel so that I can either get employed/scholarship for Fashion Design but the showreel is getting delayed again n again due to incoming jobs. 4. I am proscrastinating. maybe. sometimes. not that often. I guess. I think. 5. I shopped for some props and costumes for my photoshoot so expect some nice tutorials the next few weeks ya.
But of course, if you check back daily.. I am sure there will be surprises. Aren't I full of shocking vocabulary and broken grammar and excitement for yall the whole time anyway?
phew.. I went to Penang for my CNY holidays.. It was just like what one of my buyers said, "The whole KL traffic will literally migrate to Penang." She didn't mention that it includes human traffic other than car traffic.
This is at Gurney Drive... the food court. Nobody is standing.. Everybody is like sitting and there is barely any space to move about at all. How crazy is this wei. We waited for half an hour for the current table to finish eating.
I played fireworks outside Gurney Drive.The brown blur is the shaking and screaming me. Tips for taking fireworks : Use slow shutter speed. If you are using normal camera, use the setting that always get your shots blur no matter how steady you hold your camera.
We went to most of the temples and historical places in Penang.. This is at the Peranakan Mansion, home of the Baba and Nonya.. The house has a very nice colour scheme to it.. greens and reds..
So many vintage antiques and props.. pose pose camwhore.. I am a baba nonya yay.
Posing tips 101 : When crossing your legs, place them side by side and slanting both of them to one direction. Slant your shoulders!!
What kinda blardy pose is this. but the colour scheme so nice. pink and greens i like!!
Better now. I bought the pink umbrella hehe.. for future photoshoots. Looking for a nice chinese fan now.

Kek Lok Si pagoda temple.. I din bother to climb it or enter.. haha.. cuz it is surrounded by so many pretty flowers outside.. I was trying to do macro photography with my Skinny T that I won from Kakiis Night Out.

Can you believe this is done using a consumer camera and not my Nikon SLR?? OMG.. Tips for photography composition.. Never shoot your objects dead center unless there is a creative intention to it.. like the penang bridge shot.. cuz the bridge makes a nice symmetry composition.
Depth of Field is very nice when you can catch it in photography..especially if there is something really near that is blur and the objects in the background is blur too!!

The background is shot using Heineken's bottle using SLR at a very very slow shutter speed. Just wave the bottle around for the effect. Dark room required.
When I showed this to Ringo, she was like " Selamat Hari Raya" So I had to dump all the yellow away.
To this. green. no yellow. pls. ONLY GREEN. PHOTOSYNTHESIS is the IN thing now.
Ok.. good points first : 1. Cinematography The cinematography is amazing, every shot is meticulously painted with beauty. The simulated fog, the mood, the atmosphere.. it really pulls the movie out of the Harry Potter jinxed book-to-movie failures genre. So no worries for those who are expecting a half assed book turned into a lousy movie.. it is definitely NOT. The lighting is amazing, I love the film filters as well.. greenish blue which sets the rainy mood of Forks. The baseball scene and the scene where James walks in with the trio is spectacular. epic and breathtaking. Great camera angles.
2. Directing Catherine Hardwicke does not disappoint. I caught one of her movies before when I was in an Evan Rachel Wood craze, Thirteen. Nikki Reed is also in it(Rosalie in Twilight). Her style of directing is very real.. keeping a thin line stretched between dramatic performance and real-life non acting. She managed to save alot of bad points in the movie (will be mentioned later)
3. Acting + Chemistry The acting is great. not amazing. but great for 2 very young actors. or . more than 2. The chemistry is definitely there. Kristen Stewart pulled her character better off than Robert Pattinson did. but he is oh. so. delicious. cold sashimi. Oh. did i mention that Stephanie Meyer makes a cameo in one of the scenes?
4. Soundtrack The wide variety of music really sets the mood. Some of it is from Stephanie Meyer's personal Twilight soundtrack collection as well! I am so buying the soundtrack. Debussy Clair de Lune here I come.
Bad Points ahead : 1. Awkward Editing at times Every scene in the forest is awkward... you feel so awkward you wanna turn away from the screen. Everything seems so staged despite the great acting. Not the baseball scene though. But all the love scenes in the forest makes you cringe closer to your seat and makes you wish you didn't drag your boyfriend to the cinema.
2. Bad Action Choreography The fast running, climbing.. is bad. bad bad. Though the last climax scene was saved by the cinematography. and the non-existent fangs don't help. They need better choreography for future movies.
3. Makeup Not that I am being impossible, but the vampires sorta looked... too corpse? They should have go easy on the white powder there. but other than that, they look completely gorgeous.

For us locals.. Twilight opens this thursday and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! So despite my lethargy.. i can barely work.. nor blog.. nor work on my blog designs.. I m like a "______" corpse right now... I searched all the movie reviews for Twilight.
Results?
Out of 4 review, 3 are bad. but all of them said that the movie will satisfy the books' fans.
"I was a little afraid to admit this in fear that rabid fangirls would track me down, bite me with their fake vampire fangs, smear strawberry jelly on my neck, drag me to the next showing of this shit and hold me down throughout the whole thing.
I wanted to go, but everyone told me to make sure and go to the 8 o'clock show. That shit is too early for me. They said that was when the tween vampires were out in full force. One of my friends said some 14-year-old bitch wouldn't stop crying and shrieked whenever Robert Pattinson was on the screen. And some of those girls already memorized the lines and shit. Apparently, the hos in the audience are more entertaining than the movie itself. It sounds like I'll need to be drunk, stoned and suffering from a minor concussion to deal with this fuckery.
I didn't go to see this shit, but tons of whores did, because it was the #1 movie at the box office with $70.5 million. That's a whole lot of allowance dollars. Not surprisingly, the sequel is already in the works and so it starts again.....
