2 Spectacular Looks for New Year

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve!!!
Happy New Year!!!

I will have another post up tomorrow.. not explicit though hehe..
We are working on a few ideas for the explicit looks series.. If you have any ideas.. pop them in here!

We present to you 2 new looks for you new year celebration!

Golden 2009
I loooovvveee Gold.. silver and bronze too!!!
Here is a very simple look for you!

Brush on your brow bone with a light whitish colour..
If you have our pigment Set.. Its shade 1 and 2.

For the next part.. I use Key Colours from Red Earth
Liquid Bronzer in Dasmon Ice
Its a great product where you can :
1. Apply on your face as bronzer
2. Mix with liquid foundation to give a glowy dewy look to your face
3. Apply as makeup on the eye
4. Use as a makeup base for the eye, put another matte colour on top to get a SHIMMERY colour as the result.

Here in this tutorial, we are using for the 4th reason.
So dab abit on your eye and blend with your fingers.

Then I use Kate Eye pallete in bronze... if you have any gold eyeshadow..that would do also.
For those who have my pigment pallete.. you can use shade 55.
Just apply on top of the Dasmon Ice and pile in lots of gold!

Then I use bronze from the same Kate pallete at the outer corner of my eyelids.
You can also use Shade 65 and 66 together from the pigment pallete. Dab on the Shade 65 and a little on the 66 for the same effect.

Line your eyes with black eye liner..

Tada!! I should apply the gold further up nearer to my brow bone though.. Can't really tell the makeup is there when I open my eyes. Sigh..

Sweet Holiday
A really sweet flowery look that gives a soft feminine visage!

Do your browbone with Shade 1 from the pigment pallete.. or any whitish color.
Then use shade 16 and 17 from the pallete one the inner corner of your eye just like above. Repeat for your lower lash line.
If you don't have my pigment pallete.. you can use any light blue colour.. and if the colour is not intense enough.. wet your brush before dabbing on the pigment!

I used Shade 51 on the outer corner of the eye skipping the middle part of my lids just like above.
If you don't have the pallete, you can use a light fuschia or purple colour.
Don't forget your lower lashline!

After that I use Shade 41 for the middle part of the lids.. blending the 2 colours from before together by rubbing over them softly repeatedly.
This colour is stronger and darker than the purple colour above.
You can use a stronger purple colour for this...or if you just have one shade of purple, you can wet your brush and take the same purple from before so that this application is stronger and more intense.

Line your eyes with liquid eyeliner.

Tada!
This turns out better than the gold one!
For the lips, here is a trick!!
1. Apply lip balm on your lips.. wait for it to settle down...
2. Apply Lip Ice Sheer Colour on your lips. One layer of application is enough.
Your lips should be pinker now.
3. Line your lips with nude lipliner or concealer/stick foundation.
Smudge the lipliner/concealer/stick foundation over your whole lips.
This will make your pink lips become a pale frosty pink!

Today's photoshoot was the craziest, most uncomfortable and the FUN-nest shoot EVER!
Guess what is the stuff on my face, the first one to get it correct I'll send you a Christmas bashing present.

I am tired of seeing my Before-spastic look. So I have decided to make them smaller and smaller with each post until they disappear.
But it's ok!!! Makeup will save me from all the evil Ultramans who wanna diss me!!!

Anyway, listen up those who bought the pigment palletes!!! I have a video tutorial coming up soon..cuz I found out some of yall are quite confused and aren't getting the results as shown in this blog. So check back this friday ok!

Brow bone highlights
Shade 1 from 88 pigment pallete

Base Colour
Shade 11

Shadows at outer corner
Shade 66

White eyeliner at the inner corner.
Black eyeliner at the outer corner.

Shade 7, 18, 29, 40 for Blusher.

Pink lipstick with Red lipgloss dabbed in the center of the lips.
Smudge!

After the makeup and before the craziness begin.

Craziness #1
We started putting on XXX on my face. They keep falling off though and we ended up putting water over my makeup before putting XXX on.
One of the first pose I tried. I didn't dare blink or open my mouth or smile.
This photo looks different from the one above cuz I apply a photoshop filter called Alien Skin Exposure 2. It simulates film looks. That's why the highlights and the shadows are extra harsh.

Craziness #2
White Christmas eh?
Want to have the same effect for your irises?
Just use the Dodge tool in Photoshop, dodge the highlights and midtones of your irises until your real iris's colour show!

Craziness #3
I gathered my courage and opened my mouth and bit an envelope.
This shot was difficult. I was afraid of making XXX fall off my mouth.
I photoshopped the words and snowflakes in.
Oh by the way, I didn't photoshop my face much, I couldn't due to the amount of XXX plastered on my face.
All I did was crop and apply the Exposure 2 filter.

How do you spot a blogger?
1. Randomly takes photos of EVERYTHING, from food to cloud shapes
2. Have the craziest titles and labels for their posts and photos (eventhough sometimes the posts and photos are not interesting)
3. The females are camwhorers while the males are blog-up comedians
4. Able to write something totally irrelevant/abstract when describing a photo, people will still read them regardless.

Sometimes I hate my big sausages, but sometimes they come in handy for shots like these..
At the end of the day, I still hope I don't have sausages for my eating hole.

Photoshop Advance : Digital Makeover

Yo! Was busy with the bazaar.. it is finally over!!!!
My photographer went awol but there is a photoshoot planned tomorrow/wednesday, so makeup tutorials coming back soon yea..

I always hated doing photoshop tutorials cuz they are so freaking long and they needed alot of screencaptures.. but I cooked this one up just for yall!! Hehe...

Transform yourself from this:

STEP 1 : DOWNLOAD THE SECRET WEAPON!
Remember you can always Undo by clicking CTRL ALT Z

STEP 2 : DO THE CURVES TUTORIAL
Adjust the contrast and brightness of the photo to make yourself fairer!
Click on the link above for the tutorial, if you did it before and still remember how to do it.. *clap clap*

STEP 3 : REMOVE PIMPLES/WRINKLES/EYEBAGS
Take away all your face's defects. No doctor required.
Once again, click on the link if you have forgotten how to do it.

STEP 4 : SMOOTH YOUR SKIN!
Give your skin a baby glow!
Remember how to do it? If not, click!

STEP 5 : DARKEN THE SHADOWS!
1. Click on the tool in number 1, hold your mouse button.
2. Choose the Burn tool.
3. Change the range to Shadows(so you only darken your shadows) and the exposure to 30%(you don't want it too dark)
4. Adjust the size of the tool by pressing [ or ]
Paint on the red areas, darkening your brows, eyes and mouth gap areas effectively.

tada!

STEP 6 : HIGHLIGHT THE WHITES!
1. Click on the tool
2. Choose the Dodge tool
3. Change the range to Highlight(so you only affect the highlighted areas) and the exposure to 25%(you don't wanna shine too bright)
4. Change the brush size by clicking [ or ] ..Keep this in mind k..
Paint over the cheeks, nose bridge and your brow bones.

There you go, virtual sculpting and contouring using Burn and Dodge tool!
Now your face won't look so flat!

STEP 7 : FACE SURGERY
1. Filter > Liquify

2. Pick the first tool on the left (it pushes and pulls)
3. Push all the areas in the direction showed.
Aim for stronger jawline, V shaped and smaller nose, defined lips, higher cheekbones and higher brows!
Imagine you can plastic surgery yourself and go crazy!

4. Pick the Bloat tool. (It enlarges stuff, the tool above makes things smaller)
5. Click ONCE on your eyes, you don't wanna look like a goldfish.. haha

Face surgery done!
Smaller nose, cuter lips and more defined bone structure. Oh, and bigger Japanese eyes!

STEP 8 : COLORED CONTACT LENSES
1. Click on the Brush tool, remember this tool!
2. Click on the Brush type
4. Click on the little arrow
5. Hit Load Brushes
6. Load all 3 of the secret weapons : Eyelashes and contacts
7. You will be able to see all your new brushes in your brush type list now!

1. Click on the Brush type
2. Choose the contacts you like.. I chose the one shown.
3. Hit New Layer icon(so that you don't mess up your original photo)
4. Click on your new layer

5.Click on the color swatch, change it to the color you want your contacts to be.
6. Adjust the size using [ and ] to fit your irises.
7. Click once! Look at the result at the picture above this one labeled 5.

1. Change the blending mode to Color Dodge so that your contacts lighten your iris, use Multiply if you wanna darken your irises.
2. Result shown with arrow.

1. As the effect is not that obvious (for my photo, skip this if you are happy with the result)
Right click on your layer and duplicate the layer
Hit ok.
Do this as many times and you think is neccesary.
For each layer, play with the blending modes until you get the effect that you are looking for, you can drag the layers below or on top of one another.

1. At the end of your playtime, click on the lowest contacts layer.
Hold shift and click the one right on top.
This selects ALL your contact layers.
Hit CTRL G to group them.

Oops! I mislabeled..
Number 2 first : Hit the mask tool
1 : Click on the mask
3. Get your brush tool and click on the one above.

Change the color to black.
When you try to paint over your contacts, you will notice that black act as an eraser and white act as the opposite.
Paint over all the contacts area that flood out of your irises area, for example your eyelids and such so that the contacts only apply to your irises and nowhere else.

STEP 9 : FAKE LASHES
1. Click on your contacts group to select them
2. Hit New Layer icon.
3. Select your newest layer by clicking on them!

1. Click on the brush tool
2. Choose your fave pair of lashes.
3. Adjust the size accordingly using [ and ], pick a colour you like.
4. Click on your lashes.
5. If you want, you can put lower lashes too, I chose the one shown above
6. Click on the photo to get your new lashes!

If the colour is too intense, turn the opacity down until you feel comfortable with the result!

STEP 10 : BLUSHER
1. Make yet another layer
2. Select your new layer by clicking on them
3. Select the colour swatch so that you can change the colour
4. Pick the hue that you want (greens or reds or yellows or blues)
5. Click on the colour that you want.

1. Get your brush tool, use the soft brush
2. Adjust the size until it fits your cheek.
3. Click!

1. Set the layer blending mode to Color
2. Play with the opacity until you fade it to your desired tone.

STEP 11: HAIR HIGHLIGHTS
So now you have your contacts layers, lashes layer and blusher layer.
We are gonna add one more, so make another new layer.

By now you should be familiar with the brush and color picking..
1. Choose the brush tool
2. Pick the colour you want your hair to be.
3. Paint your hair!

Set the layer's blending mode to Soft Light.
If you feel that it isn't doing anything, duplicate the layer.
Too much? Turn the opacity down.

Finish!!!

Now if only I can photoshop myself and then bring that photoshopped photo to the plastic surgeon......

Ip Man Movie Review

I will start with 3 words :
EPIC
FINEST
DONNIE YEN

You will be disappointed if you are expecting to be disappointed.
This movie kicks .. correction.. Donnie Yen kicks 14 colours of asses in this movie.

It is impossible to be disappointed.
The awesome-st thing is, there were 2 malay dudes sitting next to me.. and they were watching it for the SECOND time, and they were repeating the dialogues.

There is no Bruce Lee character in this movie. period.
I am glad there isn't.

Synopsis
The movie is about a man, Ip Man who practices Wing Chun style of Kung Fu, spanned across the World War era during the Japanese Occupation and of course, the ending showed proof of the real Ip Man posing together with his student, Bruce Lee in a photograph.

Action choreographed by Sammo Hung [full stop]



Cinematography
Nothing to Huha about.. nothing great.. the film grain was too obvious for me in the beginning but I got used to that. The lighting and composition of shots are gritty, some scenes looks tiny bit staged but the colours are subdued, so are the white references.
In fact, (kill me) Kinta : Malaysia's first martial art movie's cinematography wowed me. (Only the cinematography.. nothing else)

Other than that, the cinematography served its purpose in this movie.. to show the greatness of the action and martial art scenes.


Editing
The editing was good, well paced and the title scenes in between the 3 acts were well timed. In fact if the first act is gone, the movie would not leave a lasting impression on the audience as it practically sits us down on a rollercoaster ride of emotions throughout the entire movie.


Acting
Donnie Yen's part below.
Simon Yam did a good job for his supporting role and Hiroyuki Ikeuchi was brilliant as the villain. Ikeuchi(above) also played a character in the GTO drama if you recall.. hehe. He was the dude whose Onizuka always tried to seduce his mom? Then Onizuka ended up saving her and the dude and him became best fags and voyeur buddies.
The other minor roles serves only the purpose of setting the mood and driving the plot forward for the movie.

The comedic elements for this movie is well timed and the theater was practically booming with laughter, especially in the 1st act. I have never enjoyed myself so thoroughly through out a Chinese Martial Arts flick before.. don't even mention or compare Jackie Chan cuz Jackie Chan is well.. Jackie Chan. Everything he touches has the same personality. Will go into that below..

The 2nd and 3rd act was intense, a mixture of vengeance and touching scenes which will not disappoint the audience as there are more than 1 villain (more fight scenes, more Donnie Yen woohoo!!)


Sound Effects
No fake or overloud wee-wung-wung and banging this time!!!
Weee~~!!
They are well timed and normalized to the pressure of each punch, swing, flick and hum of a sword. The only flaw I notice is the transition between each scene, the sound does not seamlessly flow into another but was rather cut off and cut back in quite suddenly at a difference of a few 10 seconds compared to the image.


Action Choreography
The greatness and bad ass that is Donnie Yen rules. or rather.. Sammo Hung.
Forget Fearless, Forbidden Kingdom and all the other Jet Li and Jackie Chan shit.
This is IT.
The benchmark.
Welcome Donnie Yen, bye bye Jet Li and Jackie Chan.

Donnie Yen played a character in Wing Chun, the old movie starring Michelle Yeoh and him.. so this is not his first venture into this martial art.
Wing Chun is something like a form of transfering energy, using ur enemy's strength against them and gauging the range of their attack.. then avoiding them.
Something like that.. its hard for me to explain here.. LOL



Donnie Yen VS Jackie Chan VS Jet Li
First of all..I love Jackie Chan.. we all love him but Jackie Chan is always the same. He only plays the protagonist and never the villain, his reason being,"I want to be a good example for all the kids to look up to, so I'll never be the villain."

Every character he touches become his. Humourous, stumbling, accidental-kungfu that somehow kick ass. Always happy go lucky (except for New Police Story and Rob-b Hood.. and a few others.. he diversify his characters more in those movies). So acting wise, we all know... he will always be. him.

I never ever watch his movie for the sake of the movie itself. I watch them cuz it's well you know.. Jackie Chan. and his recent endeavours.. Forbidden Kingfail was a domfail and all his US movies.. other than Rush Hour... others was simply.. forgettable AND I WATCHED EVERY FREAKING ONE OF THEM!

But we all know that Jackie Chan is the benchmark to hit if you want to be a martial arts action star.


Jet Li is cute. I like his movies.. it was nothing too king-awesome though.. His US movies were um.. not that well received by public but I actually prefer him to Jackie Chan cuz he is more versatile since he plays villains, heroes and a whole bunch of other characters as well.

If you notice, all his US movies his screentime has very little dialogue and alot of fighting and also, very little acting.
That is because well.. he can't really act that well. He is ok.

BUT.
When he did Unleashed.. with Morgan Freeman, he took extra acting classes cuz he was playing this character who has been living like a slave that has never been exposed to normal human life.

His acting like, went up freaking 5 notch in this movie.
He was good.. damn good.

I swear upon Kingdom that I will forbid any Jackie Chan and Jet Li American produced movies.
what the fuck were they thinking [full stop]

Ok... I wonder if yall have watched Twins Effects.. the one where Jackie Chan was like the immortal guardian something.. then Donnie Yen came.. and fought him.. then the match was a draw (HINT 1).
After that they had a dialogue, Jackie Chan was figuratively implying that he is 'passing the baton' to Donnie. (HINT 2)

I was thinking figuratively out of the movie-in the movie Jackie is saying that Donnie is gonna step up and he is stepping down as the leading martial arts action star.

Wonder if I am being too figurative.. HAHA.

In Ip man, Donnie was mediocre in his acting. He pulled off all the scenes well but there is no Oscar to shout about. Well, neither did Jackie or Jet Li.
His choice of characters is diversified as well, antagonist.. protagonist.. everything. He is hard ass.

All the fight scenes will wow away all the Jackie Chans and Jet Lis out of your head. You will forget all about their movies and in your dictionary, right next to the word kungfu you will practically see Donnie Yen's name right next to it.

After you watched this movie, you will know. He is stepping up and his action scenes may not be as catchy and humourous like Jackie.. he certainly does have his own style.
I am really so hyped about this movie now.

We shall wait with great anticipation on his choices of movies and characters from now on, it will be interesting to see how he will grow as an actor and as a martial arts action star.

Last week, I submitted a photo for the 'A Moment with my Kakiis' photography contest. I was too late for the video contest so scrap that. I used my personal blog for the entry though.. hehe..
This is the photo I submitted :
I am the last one on the right.. taken with my Nikon SLR at Putrajaya brigde with a timer.
We did like more than 20 tries just to get the timing correct. Especially the 2 of them who is jumping. I love this photo so much!!!

The Kakiis event was held at Ministry of Sound : Euphoria. I arrived late with 1 of my kakiis... another one was even later. Not even a celebrity, but acting like a diva already. *roll eyes*

I met Dorothy from Doroshi Online Closet there with her kakii and I used the opportunity to jump the queue as she was lining up already. BEH hehehe.
The queue wasn't that long ok. Don't hate me.

Once inside, my photographer went, "EH??? KY!!"
And hence I became the photographer and took a photo of him and KY.
After KY left, I found out that they played futsal together.

Steve from Fly FM was our dj for the night. I cannot get used to seeing his face or his body for that matter. His oily, sexy and suave voice in Fly FM gave me a strong vision of a TOTAL hot hunk in my head. I was thinking he will look like Shia Lebouf at least.. sob.
Reality is harsh.

There were tons of prizes to be won.
Mac Book Air. Sony Skinny-T Camera. PSP. Nintendo Wiis. Nokia handphones. Thumbdrives.
Sexy babes as well.
And we have to play games to win them!
There are like 10 games where you have to play and accumulate points. People were like queuing up to play some of the funnest game on earth!

My team is CRAZY. We picked the KAKIIS EXTREME first. There are like 4 boxes covered in black cloth and we have to put our hands in and find coins.
My photographer went first, when his hand is inside he started shouting and cursing.
The girl from the other team started screaming.

Then I went. I was like.. 'look left right up down - gulp' then i stuck my hand in. I felt something slimy and oozy.. I freaked out.
big time.
After the game was over, they opened the clothes and reveal the glory that is inside.
EELS.

BIG FREAKING EELS.
What is worse is that the other 2 boxes have WORMS in them.

There are all sorts of crazy games, we get to play pc games.. Nintendo Wii Tennis, Counter Strike in real life. We hold a gun and shoot others.
My photographer nabbed all the victims, I din even get to kill anyone.
Oh, and there is a game where you can get electrocuted and one where you literally freeze your feet.

We were at a secret room : The Stoner's Club. Muahahaha

Vinn and me. She is one of our models, if you remember. She is currently so busy she forgotten all about me and BlushBerry cuz she plans to damn us to hell. She damned me by being late to the event too. So I will re-damn her by spreading out her secret. One of her TV series is airing on 29th January in 8tv.. Check it out ok! Together-gether we will all damn her. LOL

One of the many games that night. Our photographer was damned by me to go to the floor to strut his ass by doing a catwalk. I literally promise to do it together with him and when we reach the DJ, I ran back to Vinn.

One of the contestants even took off his shirt and pants during the catwalk.
Sigh. This should be censored.

And then came the announcement for winners.. I was hiding out in the Secret Room again when I saw my photo on the big screen.
I was so happy!!!!

One of the best thing is we get to take our prizes immediately.
I remember all the previous contests I have won and I have to chase the prizes for months before I can get them.
My camera comes with a bag and a 2gb SD card!!!

So happy.. until I reached home and my dad asked,"So is that camera for me?"
I went,"Take it if you want." (He never accepted anything from me before in my WHOLE LIFE)
"Ok." He took the camera and played with it the whole night.

I never saw it again.
I didn't even have the chance to model myself with it.

2008 Christmas Look 1

Christmas is coming and makeup looks are popping everywhere all over the net.. I always have the thinking that xmas looks are green, red, white.. lol..
This is certainly different. Purple and orange.. the 2 contrasting colours.. nice nice!

What you need :
1. Light purple
2. Dark purple
3. Yellowish orange, think orange smoothie
4. White eye pencil
5. Black eye pencil

Orange smoothie goes on the brow bone..
Light purple goes at the corner of the eye til halfway to the lid
Dab dark purple at the corner of the eye and blend UP.
Line the top lid with black eyeliner
Line the bottom lashliner and inner corner of the eye with white eyeliner.
Oh, I use all the colours from Coastal Scent's pigment set.
I used the Taiwan Eyelashes.

I am loving my new Nikon SLR settings!!
Everything is so much sharper, colours are more accurate. No more blur lashes!!
I love shooting in RAW instead of jpegs.. omg, i feel as if my old photos are so ugly.. lol.
I shall do a post on the settings next week.. weeeeee~~

Two Japanese DIY Hairstyles

1. Short Loose Ponytail
This is a very charming hairstyle, easy to style especially if you own a hair curler!

1. Curl the lower parts of your hair inwards.
2. Part your hair diagonally
3. Twist the top part with your fingers to curl them into a bunch!

4. Hold the top part with one hand. Twist the bottom half with the other hand.
5. Twist both bunches one time.
6. Secure with a fluffy band.

7. Drag some curls out of the bunch for a more messy look!
Done! Isn't that simple?

2. Bunched Piggy tails
Despite how it looks, the model actually have very long hair!
You can get a similar cap here!

1. Curl your hair outwards.
2. Come your fringe straight. Wear a muffin cap.

3. Backcomb the ends of your hair. Push them up.
4. Separate your hair into 2 bunches

Peacock Inspired Prom Look

I found this in deviantart and thought.. why not make it simpler and less dramatic for prom?
Add in a hairdo.. tada!

Nude lips and peacock eyes.. all done using the 88 pigment pallete
I swear I will die if I lose my 88 pallete.. lol..

Before
Got up on the wrong side of the bed.. one eye bigger than the other..sob

Colours refer here!

Dab abit of 25 and 47. Apply them over the brow bone and under the outer corner of the eye.
Get abit of 13 and brush over the brow bone just below the brow a few times.
Smudge over half your eyelids.

Use 71, start from the lashline and brush up to the brow bone and under the inner corer of the eye. Rub over the green area, blending 2 colours together.

Get 61 and 82 and brush over the inner lashline above. Follow up by brushing the middle part of your lower lashline. The colours are coming together nicely now!!

Get some white shimmer (not in the pallete, available here if you don't have one).
Lightly swipe over your cheekbone, browbone and over the makeup to give some shimmer.
Line your eyes with black eye pencil/liner

For blusher, use 19, 20, 30, 31, 41, 42. Use a blusher brush and lightly get the colours from the 5 pigments.
Blush your cheeks up!

Mascara and false lashes!

Curl your hair and pin them up in a messy bun. Clip on some accesories.. bling bling or flowers.. or peacock feathers.

Tada!!
Before you go out.. put on some lip balm.. Wait for it to settle down.
Then smudge nude lipliner over your lips.
Gloss up!

Remember to spray your hair with hair spray..
You can try spritzing your body with body shimmer.. light ones will do.. not the coarse ones..

I feel like having a tropical fruit punch. So thirsty.
Now that I have glamed up with NO WHERE to go, I feel sad sitting in front of my Mac blogging.

Braided Ribbons
What a casual and easy way to look sweet!!
Try this!

1. Gather all your hair to your left.
2. Starting from the top of your head, french braid until you reach your ear
3. Secure the braid with a long ribbon.

4. Tie a butterfly knot.
5. Using the 2 ends of the ribbon, separate them together with your hair
6. Braid the rest of your hair together with the ribbon.
7. Once you reach the end, use another ribbon (short one) and tie another double knot to secure
8. Curl the ends of your hair.

Explicit looks are dramatic looks we do to experiment photography and makeup..
You will get to see all sorts of weird makeup and photography techniques such as using sugar to reflect highlights, baby oil to get a sexy sheen and much much more cool techniques..
Oh and also photoshop techniques.. We will be starting back our photoshop series.. on editing and creating designs.

Today, we are doing the Hard Punk Rock look.. a very hardcore dramatic makeup inspired from an artist in Deviantart.
Few weeks ago, a reader requested for a Glam Rock look in the shoutbox.. we swayed from the topic~~ LOL

Anyway, in the Explicit series we will share the techniques we use for makeup, photography and photoshop as well.
For Photoshop techniques, this post features cropping away unwanted details to better focus on the makeup.

Before applying anything.. I actually look normal... Joker-ish photos ahead.
When taking photographs, don't be afraid to crop off your forehead and chin. Your photo can be cropped again in photoshop. Cropping is a very useful technique to add artistry to your photographs.

Eyebrows.. colour from the 88 pigment pallete.
As I wanted to focus on the eyebrow, one of the eyes can be cropped off as only one side is needed. I tried tilting my head to get the lazy-careless effect.

Base eyeshadow, also from the 88 pigment pallete which is also available in US Coastal Scents.
I have no idea why I love sleepy eyes, maybe because they show the makeup more clearly and they look good with fake lashes on. :D

Vertical Photographs of the eyeliner makeup. 2nd photo to the right is for makeup reference. It doesnt really matter how much I open my eyes cuz the eyeliner completely covered my eyelid crease. Woes of being an Asian.

I cropped off the upper eyelids because I only wanted to show the glitter on the lower lid.
All the slanted photos are not rotated in Photoshop, I actually tilt my head during the photography session.

I used real lashes, Opera.

I look really scary here.
Anyway, I used Make Up Store's Dawn black lipstick for the upper lip.
I photoshopped the blue contacts in and rack up the contrast alot. At least now there is a tiny tad of artisticness in this photo, the original photo is really scary.
I just use Curves in photoshop to brighten up the whole image while keeping the dark areas pure black.

I wonder if yall watch Nana, the anime before. I love their dressing, it consists of torn clothes.. with holes and such. The Black Stones band in Nana is accesorized with Vivienne Westwood's jewellery and they look really really cool!!!

Japanese Men's Bra by Wishroom

Men's bras are selling like hot berries in Japan!
Wishroom created a line of brassieres for men, targeted at cross dressers they have sold more than 300 bras online in just 2 weeks!

Akiko, Wish Room's owner, says that she hopes by wearing the bras men will become more sensitive and gain an insight into what it's like being a woman.

They are all priced at USD 30 each. The executive director of Wishroom revealed that she was shocked at the results of the statistics researching men's desire to enhance their inner beauty.
Will this be a norm for straight men in the future as well ?? We will never know when our boyfriends will go into the lingerie fitting room together with us next time.

The cover looks like some talc powder cover.

All you need is a size of your smallest fingertips.
The powder is very very light though. Remember to switch off all your fans and shut your windows. Any wind will blow away your precious money, oops powder.
Careful when you close your fingers in, the powder will also fly..

The correct way is to use your index and middle finger to lightly get the powder out of the cross-shaped holes.

Don't pour out too much powder or your hair will be too stiff in the end.
There are 2 ways of using this product :
1. Pour powder onto hand. Knead the powder in with your fingers until they become somewhat sticky. Apply to hair.
2. Pour powder onto hand. Apply to hair ends and hair roots. Knead the style in with your fingers.

Celebrity Looks : Jennifer Lopez

Hey hey, from now on there will be a few changes implemented into Blushberry like so :

Today, we will show you how to apply makeup on yourself the Jennifer Lopez way!

To get her look, there is only one thing we should note :
1. Strong prominent facial bone structure
If you look carefully, her jaw and cheek bones is quite prominent. Her nose looks wonderful with a side lighting, it paints the shadows and highlights beautifully. So even when she has neutral makeup on, she still looks gorgeous due to her beautiful bone structure.

We would have to mimic this feature in order to look like her.

We did a video on the process, the video is only less than 2 minutes long. You get to see the whole transformation from plain Jane to Jennifer Lopez lookalike!

We start by applying the foundation on the skin. As we will be doing alot of contouring, we use MORE foundation and LESS concealer in order to prevent our face lines from cracking. So, use more foundation and go very light with the concealer.

After that, we shade in the brows. As I am Asian and I have black hair, I shaded my brows in a different shade compared to Jennifer's but if your hair is dyed brown, you should use light brown to shade your brows.

The whole makeup look is done using this pigment pallete, it is also used by Xsparkage in Youtube! You can get it from us for RM 80 only!

We start contouring with the highlights. We use shade 1 and 12 from the pallete on the brow bone, the inner corner of the eye and on the eye bag area. We finish off by shading the cheek bone and nose tip.

After that, we use a blusher brush and pick up the colours 42, 43, 44 and below.
We contoured the area below the cheekbone. ( We over do it so that its more obvious in the photo) We shaded the sides of the nose right up to the brow area. We finish off by using an angled brush to shade in the inner corner of the lower eyelids.

Now, we start the eye makeup. We use colour 1 for the first half of the inner eyelid and shade 66 for the outer eyelid. We blend them really well to get a smokey effect.

Just like Jennifer Lopez, we line the eyes with a liquid liner. The trick is to get a thin line on the upper and lower lashline first. After that, we thicken the line bit by bit, going thicker as we move to the (upper) outer lash line just like in the photo above.
This technique opens up your eyes and get rid of the sleepy eye look.

We finish with the pigments by applying a little hint of blusher to the center of the cheeks.
After that, we apply mascara to the lashes.

Finally!
We stuck on lashes for both the upper and lower eyelids.
We use Perfect Lashes and Lower Lashes from our Sales.
After that, we fill in the lips with nude liner, carefully smudging away the lip borders which is darker in colour. After that we use a pale pink lip gloss for the lips!

Tada! All done!
My nose looks damn tall.. weeeee
and I even have slight dimples right below my cheek due to the contouring!

You can see the contouring better this angle. See how the countouring helps make the nose look thinner and higher? The highlights on the cheeks and the lowlights below it makes my cheek bone more pronounced.

During the Keira Knightley makeup look, people were like saying I photoshopped my way thru.. so this time I took the liberty to show my before and after in Photoshop.
What I did was :
1. Put in J Lo's hair.. my hair extensions are not thick enough..T_T
2. I used her flower too!
3. I brought the shoulder abit closer to the chin so that it resembles the J Lo photo more
4. I simulated the side lighting.. Once we get studio lights we won't have to simulate with photoshop anymore. Can't wait.

Final output. Click for a larger version! Oh, I darken the hair abit though, I don't really suit such a light colour.
